David L. Grainger

 

Pastor's Bio:

The Rev. Dr. David L. Grainger was appointed as pastor of the Orono United Methodist Church in July 2005. Pastor Grainger is an ordained Elder in the New England Conference of The United Methodist Church with extensive pastoral leadership in various ministries in higher education and community development.
Pastor Grainger earned his undergraduate degree from Kalamazoo College and his professional theology degree from Boston University School of Theology with post-graduate studies in biblical and historical studies. He holds a doctorate of theology from Chicago Theological Seminary with a concentration in practical theology and spiritual formation.

Pastor Grainger has served as the pastor of several churches in New England and as the pastoral director of the Rolling Ridge Conference and Retreat Center in North Andover, Massachusetts. He has served as the executive director of higher education ministries at the University of New Hampshire, The University of Chicago, and the Pace Center for Urban and University Ministry at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.

He is a recipient of the Francis Asbury Award for distinguished service in higher education ministries and a Fellow with Initiatives for Change. His board service includes the Wilson Center at the University of Maine, Food AND Medicine, and Downeast Maine Missions.
